Nicalis Bringing Code Of Princess, VVVVVV, And Knight Terrors To The Switch

Nicalis is teasing five new Nintendo Switch games. On Twitter today, the company revealed a Nintendo Switch with multiple Nicalis game icons in the UI. Five of them were obscured, with Nicalis saying the company has a lot of work left after PAX West 2017. Of those five, four are easily identified.

The three in the bottom-left are most recognizable. The one on the in the final row on the right is 1001 Spikes, which Nicalis has already announced for the Nintendo Switch. Its icon features Aban Hawkins, as seen in the Steam icon image. Next to it is an icon for Code of Princess, which originally launched on the Nintendo 3DS and recently appeared on the PC. Its icon is based on the art used on the cover of the Nintendo 3DS game. The icon directly above Code of Princess is for VVVVVV. That icon appears to use the art Nicalis shared in a tweet back in October 2016 notifying people about the game’s Nintendo 3DS eShop launch in Japan.

Knight Terrors is the icon in the upper left corner. This is an endless runner beat’em up with procedurally generated levels. The icon art resembles a promotional image used in the game’s GoFundMe campaign. FreakZone Games, the developer, retweeted Nicalis’ tease earlier today and told people, “Look carefully at this image. That’s all I’m going to say.” The account also left an “lel” comment on someone comparing that icon to a “video armageddon” image.

The fifth Nicalis game icon currently remains a mystery. It is the one situated between Blade Strangers and The End is Nigh.

Aside from 1001 Spikes, none of the other Nintendo Switch games in Nicalis’ tweet have been teased before now.
