Boulder Boy – A Lolo-Like Puzzle Game About Magic Pugs & Determined Rocks

Boulder Boy is a cute puzzle game about a boy who’s been turned to stone by his pet pug, forced to roll along the confounding confines of his world in order to break the curse and defeat his former beloved pet.

Boulder Boy draws from games like Adventures of Lolo, putting players in puzzling environments and tasking them with figuring out how to use all of the elements lying around to escape them safely. Players will do much of this through pushing objects, using rocks to clobber foes, but also by manipulating certain elements in the environment to clear paths, give them something to float on, or disable traps.

Each stage features various themed elements and enemies specific to it, providing new mechanics and devices for players to learn in order to solve their puzzles. Some of these stages will also harken back to other games with their foes and themes, paying homage to the classic games that the developers loved growing up.

Boulder Boy will feature some large boss fights as players seek out their magical dog, and these will offer even more unique mechanics, such as a pinball-like battle, or others that will feature a rhythm-game like play style.

Boulder Boy is currently raising development funding on Kickstarter.
