A new Xenoblade Chronciles 2 trailer has been released, this time going over another plot point present in the game. We have known for a while now that Rex and Pyra are attempting to reach Elysium. But in this new video, we learn something about the nature of Blades that is heart-wrenching.

Quite a few interesting details are revealed in the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 story trailer, which features Japanese voice acting and English subtitles. We learn from Pyra that Blades can live forever, thanks to the crystal, but that means there is an opportunity to collect bad memories too. Pyra says forgetting can be a blessing. We then get to see the other Drivers with their Blades. Pandoria tells Zeke that she will never forget, during these segments. It is only later in the video that Akhos reveals the truth; Blades lose their memories when they return to their cores.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will come to the Nintendo Switch on December 1, 2017.
