During the January 2018 Nintendo Direct Mini, Nintendo dated the first Kirby game for the Nintendo Switch. People will be able to pick up and play Kirby Star Allies on March 16, 2018. This is the latest adventure where Kirby can hurl hearts at enemies to turn them into allies. In addition, up to four people can play together and control these enemies Kirby has won over.

In the trailer, two new Copy Abilities were shown. Kirby can now gain the Artist and Spider abilities. The Artist ability lets him paint to create an ally, like a fake Dedede, to fight for him. The Spider can use webs to bind enemies up and use them as projectiles. Enemy ability combinations were also shown, where an enemy’s ability works together with Kirby’s current Copy Ability. One example was combining Ice and Water to create an Icicle Lance attack.

You can see the latest Kirby Star Allies footage at the 2 minute and 21 second mark in the Nintendo Direct Mini.

Kirby Star Allies was first announced at E3 2017 and will be released on the Nintendo Switch on March 16, 2018.
