Sony Interactive Entertainment is now taking sign-ups for the PlayStation 4 system software update 5.50 in North America, Europe, and Japan to get a first look at new features coming to the console.

Previously, beta testers for the system software update 5.00 got early access to features such as the Family on PlayStation Network, friend list management, message improvements, and more before it launched.

Those who register will need a PS4 system and internet connectivity. Those who wish to opt out of the trial can roll back to a previous system software version at any time. Furthermore, you can also have it set to automatically add your account to future betas without having to register again.

More details on the update and its features will be revealed in the near future.
