Publisher Nippon Ichi Software announced in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine that Japan will get the Nintendo Switch version of the Falcom-developed action RPG Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana this June. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]

While Falcom developed and published Ys VIII in Japan, it is actually Nippon Ichi who will publish the Switch version over there, and NIS America will be publishing the game in North America. The Nintendo Switch version will contain numerous DLC as well.

Nippon Ichi Software producer Gen Suganuma commented that they’re currently working with the mindset of getting people to say: “They say that Ys VIII is the best entry from the series. We’re alive in such a great era to be able to play a wonderful game like that on Switch.”

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The PC version will release in April 2018. The Nintendo Switch version launches in Japan on June 28, 2018 and it has a Summer 2018 window for the rest of the world.
