It has been one thousand years since the great war of Ragnarok. Dragons are thought long extinct—their crystalized souls spread across the land. Ten years ago, the Empire of Lombardia declared war on the Kingdom of Astoria. The Empire invaded Alfheim, but Astoria has managed to hold its ground. It’s up to Yuma Ilvern, the boy with the soul of the Shining Dragon, and his companions to fight back against the empire and protect Alfheim! Unleash the power of the Shining Dragon that resides within Yuma in Shining Resonance Refrain!

At the start of Shining Resonance Refrain you’ll get to choose between two modes of Original Mode and Refrain Mode. Original Mode is recommended to new players as it’s the base game the way it was originally made. Refrain Mode is recommended for second playthroughs, where you’ll get to recruit Excella Noa Aura and Jinas Aion (Pictured above) along with some new dialogue and romance options.

Shining Resonance Refrain is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Check out Jenni’s playtest to read about how the game remembers its RPG roots.
