Digimon Survive’s first trailer was revealed during a Digimon livestream by Bandai Namco today, revealing several other human characters, and a look at the grid-based gameplay.

Apart from Agumon, Minoru, Aoi, Shuji, and Saki are the four human characters shown off in the game. Floramon will also be a Digimon partner for one of the characters as well.

Here’s the trailer below [Thanks, Nintendo Everything!]:

Furthermore, gameplay for both the story and battle sections of the game were shown off in the livestream:

Story (starts at the 1:25:20 mark)

Players need to make various decisions that will determine whether they survive or not, and explore the alternate world they have been thrown into. Some of the game’s characters can actually die depending on choices made, true to the Digimon Survive name.

Battle (starts at the 1:29:40 mark):

Battles are turn-based and grid-based. There will be around 100 playable Digimon in the game, and they can Digivolve spending EP (energy points). Some EP is recovered every turn.

Finally, Bandai Namco confirmed once again that a new Digimon Story game is in development.

Digimon Survive releases in 2019 in Japan for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Take a look at several more screenshots in our previous report here.
