Lapis x Labyrinth Trailer Explains How To Play The Character-Stacking Action RPG

Nippon Ichi Software shared the latest trailer for its upcoming side-scrolling character-stacking action RPG , Lapis x Labyrinth, that gives us a good idea how the game plays.

“A small village in a small kingdom has been hit with some tough financial times, thankfully they are sitting on a whole trove of treasure! Dive into the Labyrinth atop a forest that shimmers like gold in search of beaucoup bucks with your customized crew of adventurers! Using the creative stacking mechanic you can flip between up to 4 adventurers on the fly and deploy their individual attacks while keeping them all on top of your head!

Go for the glitz and glamour, strike with the blitz and hammer!

The video focuses on three main actions: Job Action, Assist Order, and Extra Order. Job Actions are pretty self-explanatory as actions you do based on the leader (bottom of the Dango). The Assist Order is all about the head right on top of the leader. When tossed with an Assist Order, the second-to-bottom head goes back into their normal form and fights using their entire body to assist with special abilities.

Lastly, the Extra Order is when all allies jump out and attack together at once with their special attacks. By using these three actions you’ll work your way through dungeons and enemies. There’s also a “Fever Mode” that makes Fever Gems appear. You can collect these treasures for buffs and you’re invulnerable during Fever Mode, so you’ll want to take out as many enemies possible.

Lapis x Labyrinth releases in Japan on November 29, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The game releases in Asia in Spring 2019.
