Join Us For The First Siliconera Super Smash Bros Ultimate Night (Update)

Every once in a while, when certain multiplayer games come out, Siliconera will host community nights for everyone to get together and play. Now that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is here, we are going to attempt it this evening. At 6pm PT/8pm CT/9pm ET, a Siliconera Battle Arena room will be opened. And as of 7:58pm CT, you can pop in the Battle Arena!

The password for the Siliconera Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Battle Arena will be “12212018” and the Arena name will be “Siliconera,” so hopefully you can find it! The room code is 89V8P. We’ll be playing for at least one hour, maybe two. We will use a five-stock ruleset with Choice stages. No Spirits, so the playing field will be level. We’ll have it set so maximum of eight players can be in the room, with the bottom two being sent to the back of the line. Our song will be “Trouble Brewing II,” because I am one of the handful of Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. fans out there.

While there are connectivity issues with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Battle Arena in general feels like a sound idea. You can set custom rules, even determining items that can be used and whether the game will choose from people’s favorite stages or random stages. It is clearly organized, so you can see who is in the ring, who is waiting, and who is in line to play next. It even feels like there is an element of order, since you can determine who will be kicked after a match, due to their placement in the match.

Of course, if join us tonight, you’ll be able to see all of that for yourself!

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available for the Nintendo Switch.
