People looking forward to playing a new visual novel in VR will have to wait a bit longer. MyDearest’s Tokyo Chronos will not be making its debut in February 2019 as planned. The PC version, which will be compatible with the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, will launch on March 20, 2019, with backer codes going out on March 19, 2019. Then, in July 2019, the game will appear for the PlayStation VR.

The official Kickstarter page for Tokyo Chronos explained the reasons for the delay. It all comes down to a polishing issue. The team is hoping that the additional time will result in a higher quality product for players. An apology for the delay was also offered.

In Tokyo Chronos, players follow Kyosuke Sakurai. He has woken up in the frozen Chronos World version of Shibuya. He was the leader of the group of friends, which consisted of Ai Morozumi, Karen Nikaido, Sai Kamiya, Sota Machikoji, Tetsu Kageyama, Yu Momono, and Yuria Togoku. However, something seems to have happened that resulted in people being separated. People are disappearing and dying,

Tokyo Chronos will come to the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift on March 20, 2019 and the PlayStation VR in July 2019. It was a Kickstarter success story that raised $90,625 from 970 backers in August 2018.
