Super Smash Bros Ultimate Piranha Plant Now For Sale In The eShop

Back when the Super Smash Bros Ultimate Piranha Plant early purchase promotion was announced, Nintendo noted that the character would be sold separately after the event period. However, the company didn’t announce a launch date or price. Now, the day after the cutoff period to purchase and get a code for a free Piranha Plant, the character has been added as $4.99 DLC to the eShop.

This means that the Piranha Plant is $1 cheaper than the other upcoming DLC characters. If purchased separately, the other characters will be $5.99 each. However, each of those characters’ packs come with a fighter, a stage, and a song. The Piranha Plant is also only available outside of the $24.99 Fighter Pass.

As a reminder, please play carefully with the Piranha Plant in All-Star Mode. Some people have been reporting save data corruption after 2.0.0.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now available for the Nintendo Switch. If you purchased the game by January 31, 2019, you will have a free code for the Piranha Plant coming to you, which you can redeem in the eShop to get the character.
