Nintendo Investigating Possible Super Smash Bros Ultimate Piranha Plant Bug

Recommended Videos

Almost immediately after the Super Smash Bros Ultimate 2.0.0 update was released, some people reported save data corruption issues when using the newly added Piranha Plant in Games & More’ s All-Star mode. Now, Nintendo has released a statement regarding the issue. While testing was done, the company hasn’t been able to confirm the problem. However, the company will still be looking at the potential problem to see what might be going on. (Thanks, Newsweek!)

Here is Nintendo of America’s statement regarding the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Piranha Plant bug some people have been facing.

“We are aware that some users are posting about possible issues with the latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate update. After extensive testing, Nintendo has not been able to confirm that there is an issue, although we will continue to investigate and monitor the situation.”

People who have encountered the issue and are also Nintendo Switch Online subscribers do have some way of mitigating the damage. Should the issue be encountered and save data corrupted, they can delete the save data on their system and grab the file backed up to the cloud.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available for the Nintendo Switch.
