Bloodstained’s Latest Update Compares How Its Graphics And Lighting Have Improved

Recommended Videos

In the lead-up to its launch, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has been receiving regular updates showing how the game has been improved and its latest looks at how the visuals have changed and shards can be used. In a new trailer, there is a direct comparison showing the updates using an encounter with a specific opponent, while there are also descriptions on Kickstarter of some of the shards Miriam can use.

First, here is the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night visual improvements trailer. It begins by showing the footage, then offers a direct comparison showing how the shots have changed. Part of the new look is due to assets, but on Kickstarter there were notes saying that the lighting method has been adjusted.

As for Miriam’s shards, the Invert and Reflector Ray are two she can use to move through the castle. Invert is a Skill Shard for her, which turns the world upside-down temporarily when she uses it. This would allow her to reach areas she normally couldn’t, as she is the only thing that isn’t inverted when she uses that ability. With Reflector Ray, players get to plot out the path of a beam of light. Once a route is planned and seems like it would get Miriam where she needed to go, you can send her off temporarily as ray of light to get from point A to point B, with her not taking damage as she essentially teleports and maybe getting into spaces she couldn’t before.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in Summer 2019.
