In Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland, players get to follow Lulua Frixell as she visits familiar places from the Arland trilogy and new locations and learns about alchemy. Now, we have a better idea of how synthesis works in the game, thanks to some new trailers. Lulua will be gathering all kinds of materials, as well as finding some rare ones that can change traits of the items she is making. This is thanks to the Awakened Effect.
The Awakened Effect lets people who use items with that trait when making a new item get different properties in the finished creation. The example used to show how this works had to do with a Thunder Bomb. Sometimes, you might be able to create that with an ingredient that has a Fire Damage Awakened Effect. When you then make the bomb with that item, it deals both electrical and fire damage to enemies.

Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan on March 20, 2019. It will be released for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 21, 2019 in North America and May 24 in Europe. In addition to the standard edition, the NIS America Online Store will sell Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 limited editions that include Rorona and Lulua acrylic keychains, a Sound Archives soundtrack, a hardcover Memorial Art Book, and a cloth poster.
