The release windows for Samurai Shodown have been revealed. Depending on the platform, it will release at different times. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners will get access to it first, as it will appear on both systems in June 2019. Nintendo Switch owners will see the game in Q4 2019. The PC version is the only one without a release window, with SNK and Athlon only noting it will appear “at a later date.”
In terms of the timeline, Samurai Shodown isn’t the most recent game, despite being the newest one. Its events take place after the fifth game, but before the first one. Charlotte, Earthquake, Galford, Haohmaru, Jubei Yagyu, Nakoruru, Tam Tam, and Ukyo Tachibana are all among the 13 confirmed returning characters, and three new characters will bring the roster up to 16 combatants in the main game. However, additional DLC fighters will appear.
Some of the Samurai Shodown modes were also mentioned in the release date reveal. People will be able to go through Dojo, Online Battle, Practice, and Story. The Dojo is an online mode that lets the game make a Ghost AI character in response to your actions while you play, which can be uploaded for asynchronous online play. So far, 1v1 Battles and a 100-ghost fight called Ironman Challenge have been announced for Dojo.
