Ys IX Will Have Five Playable Monstrum Based On Different Animals Like “White Cat” And “Hawk”

Falcom shared additional details on Ys IX: Monstrum Nox in the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation, revealing that all five Monstrum [pictured behind bars] we saw in its initial key visual will be playable. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]

The magazine introduces “White Cat” (Shironeko) and “Hawk” (Taka) who we saw in the recent gameplay footage. Below are details on the two:

  • White Cat/Shironeko: Fighting style is martial arts and is kind of a Robin Hood. Specializes in strike attack combos and has the ability to run up walls.
  • Hawk/Taka: A dual blade fighter who loves to fight. Specializes in aerial combat with the ability to glide around in predator fashion.

Ryokutya points out that the character names have yet to be revealed but it is also possible that their names are simply what they’re listed as in the magazine with “Shironeko” and “Taka” so we’ll wait for more information on that.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox releases for PlayStation 4 in Japan in Fall 2019.
