The April 25, 2019 Super Mario Odyssey VR Update Will Add A Theater Mode

Recommended Videos

The Japanese Super Mario Odyssey Twitter account has revealed a new VR feature that will be coming to the game as a free update. On April 26, 2019 in Japan (April 25, 2019 elsewhere), a Theater Mode will arrive. This is a part of the game’s upcoming Nintendo Labo VR compatibility.

After the update is downloaded, people with the Nintendo Labo VR Kit will be able to go back and watch cutscenes they have unlocked in VR. The tweet confirmed that these videos will have added depth in this mode, to take advantage of the Toy-Con VR goggles. However, it seems that people who don’t have the goggles will also be to rewatch videos here.

This is the second look at how Super Mario Odyssey VR compatibility will work. Previously, some screenshots let us see what Mario will be doing in the Cap Kingdom, Luncheon Kingdom, and Seaside Kingdom when people head into the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit experience.

Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit will be released on April 12, 2019 for the Nintendo Switch. On April 25, 2019, both Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will get VR updates.
