The Annoying Final Fantasy VII Audio Bug Has Been Fixed On The Nintendo Switch And Xbox One

Recommended Videos

When the Final Fantasy VII port was released on the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, it brought with it a remnant from past releases. Namely, there was a big problem with the music. In this version of the game, there is a Final Fantasy VII audio bug that will cause the background music to reset every time you take part in a random battle and the battle ends. Now, thanks to update 1.01, that issue is gone. (Thanks, Resetera!)

The Final Fantasy VII audio bug has appeared on both the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One since launch. It is also so prevalent that people who may have played the PC or mobile port likely heard it. However, this latest update now makes it so the overworld music in an area will pick up where it left off, rather than reset and restart from the beginning, after any battle.

There were two other notable Final Fantasy VII bugs fixed with this update. One involves infamous black screens. Before and after any FMV sequence, there would be a frame where the screen would be entirely black during the transition. This issue is now gone after the update. There was also a flashback portion where the wrong music played, and now the right music will.

Final Fantasy VII is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and both Android and Apple iOS devices.
