David Hayter Stars As Playable Zangetsu In Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s Post-Launch Update

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s monthly Kickstarter update has been posted on Kickstarter, revealing a new trailer featuring the game’s second playable character to be added after launch, Zangetsu.

Voiced by David Hayter in English, Zangetsu is a demon hunter samurai who was once cursed, and has since dedicated his life to slaying every last demon that exists. He wields the Zangetsuto katana and uses elemental talismans as well. Furthermore he will be able to use his chain hook to traverse the mysterious castle. If Zangetsu seems familiar, it’s also because he was the main character of the Bloodstained spinoff Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon which released last year.

Additionally, several stretch goals for the original project will be available day 1 on the date of the game’s launch:

    • Nightmare Mode
    • New Game Plus
    • 8-bit retro level
    • Cheat codes

Additionally, the “Miriam’s Gaze” PS4 theme preorder bonus will be available for free to any backer who chose the PS4 version, no matter if physical or digital. The theme will feature the track “Holy Wisdom” from the soundtrack.

For backers in Japan, 505 Games revealed that logistical difficulties have led to a delay from its June 18 and June 25, 2019 release dates. The exact date will be confirmed later on, but the game is still on its way to every platform announced. As an apology, Japanese backers get temporary Steam keys on June 18, 2019 so that they will be able to play the game on PC on day 1, while the issues get solved.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will arrive on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on June 18, 2019. It will come to the Nintendo Switch on June 25, 2019. Its Kickstarter launched on May 11, 2015 and raised $5,545,991 from 64,867 people. You can check out more Day 1 update features and pre-order content in our previous report here.
