There Will Be Multiple Trials Of Mana Remake Endings, But Only The Same Six Characters

Recommended Videos

In Trials of Mana (Seiken Densetsu 3), people can see different endings depending on who you picked as your first hero and who might be in the party. For example, Riesz has one standard ending if she is first party member you picked, but that ending has an alternate variation if Hawkeye was also in the group. Producer Shinichi Tatsuke has confirmed that the Trials of Mana remake will also feature multiple endings. However, don’t expect any extra potential party members. (Thanks, Vooks!)

During the interview, Tatsuke clarified that the Trials of Mana remake’s story would proceed in the same way as the original. He noted, “First of all, the prologues for each of the six characters are completely different and the game also has multiple endings, depending on what combination of characters that you choose. But the story will also change, depending on that character combination.”

There are 12 possible ending combinations in the original Trials of Mana. Each character has one ending, plus a variant that occurs if a specific person is also in the party. Angela and Duran’s endings will have variants if the other person in the pair is in the party. So do Charlotte and Kevin. The other pair that triggers variants is Hawkeye and Riesz.

In addition, Tatsuke commented on whether people could see additional party members. Only the original six heroes will appear. He noted, “No, there aren’t going to be any additional characters, because we really wanted to stay true to the spirit of the original release.”

The Trials of Mana remake is in development for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC. It will be released in 2020.
