Get ready to fire up “Tetris: Type A” or “Tetris: Type B.” The Tetriminoes are dropping into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean I or T is being added as some secret character. Rather, a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tetris 99 Spirit Board event will commence on October 25, 2019 and run for five days.
Five Tetris 99 Spirits will be available on the Spirit Board during this time period. While the official Japanese Twitter account didn’t name which pieces will appear, the promotional picture suggests what they could be. Based on the image, I, O, and T might each be their own spirit, while J could be with L as one spirit and S could be with Z as another.
This is only the most recent Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Spirit Board crossover with exclusive Spirits. Daemon x Machina and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Spirits both showed up.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Tetris 99 are both available for the Nintendo Switch.
