It looks like a recent update has changed part of what comes with the Octopath Traveler PC release. On November 5, 2019, Square Enix updated the game. As Steamdb.info shows, Denuvo DRM appears to be removed from it. (Thanks, DSO Gaming!)
It is unknown if this Octopath Traveler Denuvo situation is permanent. The Steam product listing still notes that it “incorporates 3rd-party DRM: Denuvo Anti-tamper.” Dragon Quest XI, another Square Enix game, still uses Denuvo, while Final Fantasy VIII Remastered never included it.
As a reminder, Octopath Traveler is a 2D JRPG that follows the stories of eight different characters. You pick who you would like to start with, then can eventually acquire everyone else and see their tales as you go around the world. Once everyone is in your party, you get a chance to see a larger story which has been coming together in the background and head off to face a greater challenge together.
Octopath Traveler is available on the Nintendo Switch and PC.
