R-Type Dimensions EX Flies Onto Apple iOS Devices

Recommended Videos

People have a new place they can play R-Type and R-Type II. The shooters have made their home on Apple iOS devices as R-Type Dimensions EX. However, the cost of mobility comes at a price.

For the most part, R-Type Dimensions EX on Apple iOS devices is nearly identical to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC versions of the games. You have both games, which can be played in 2D or 3D. You have the option of picking what you play with Stage Select or trying to shoot things up for as long as possible in Infinite Mode. There are eve options to slow down or speed up the action.

A few changes were made in the move. R-Type Dimensions EX does have a retooled control scheme with a virtual gamepad on-screen and doesn’t include co-op. There is Game Center compatibility though, so people can still earn achievements and place on leaderboards.

R-Type Dimensions EX is now available on Apple iOS devices for $4.99.
