Pokemon Quest x Labo Crossover Lets You Make Bulbasaur, Eevee, and Pikachu RC Cars

A Pokemon Quest Labo crossover is coming to Japan, but only for people who pick up a certain magazine. In the March 2020 issue of Yochien, people will be able to get a Pokemon Quest-themed papercraft project. (It will go on sale in January 2020.) While it can be enjoyed on its own, it also is compatible with the Nintendo Labo. [Thanks, Japanese Nintendo!]

To be specific, the Yochien Pokemon Quest Labo crossover works with the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit. The project will come with Toy-Con RC Cars that look like the Pokemon Quest versions of Bulbasaur, Eevee, and Pikachu. Once the build is complete, Joy-Cons can be attached to them and they can be controlled with the Nintendo Switch like the Toy-Con RC Cars that come with the Variety Kit.

However, if someone doesn’t have the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit, the Yochien Pokemon Quest papercraft can be enjoyed on its own. It also comes with a game where Bulbasaur, Eevee, and Pikachu are placed on inclined paths. People can tap the end to make them move toward the center. The Pokemon that reaches the island first is the winner.

Elaborate papercraft projects aren’t uncommon in Yochien. The February 2020 issue allows people to put together a coin pusher game. It is actually a replica of Sega’s Let’s Go Fishing! medal pusher arcade game. A sample video shows how to build it and how it works when it is completed.

Pokemon Quest is available for the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. Nintendo Labo Variety Kit is available for the Nintendo Switch.
