Is Double Fine’s Next Game Costume Quest? [Update: Yes, It Is.]

Double Fine, the studio behind Psychonauts and Brutal Legend, may have their next game lined up. Tim Shafer’s studio filed a trademark for Costume Quest in the USPTO, which can be used for video game software and downloadable games.

Last month, Shafer said he was working on a handful of games. Four of them have been picked up by publishers and each, according to Shafer, feels like “a really tiny slice of a triple-A game.”

Update: Shortly after we discovered this trademark, Costume Quest was formally announced. It’s a Halloween themed RPG for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 published by THQ.
