Dungeons take place within the winding streets of Liz Shoala, which is cursed with monsters roaming the streets every night. Mai Touyama is in town in order to find her sister Sanae, and heads out at night in belief that the town’s gruesome curse has something to do with her sister’s disappearance.

While the game revolves around Mai’s story, it’s a true sequel to the first, with key characters reappearing. One particular plot point is the disappearance of Arata Mizunashi, one of the protagonists of the first game. For some reason, Mai is in possession of his laptop.

Death end re;Quest 2 releases for PlayStation 4 in Japan on February 13, 2020. The game will collaborate with Ao Oni, and you can check out first screenshots here.
