A total of seven characters will be available for the Guilty Gear -Strive- closed beta test. The roster includes Faust, a longtime series vet but the most recently-announced character. The other six are Sol, Ky, Axl, May, Chip, and Potemkin. All of these are returning characters, so nobody new just yet. But considering how many changes are coming to the look and feel of Guilty Gear for -Strive-, it may well feel like a new roster regardless! Maybe.

There is one caveat for this round of beta testing. Arc System Works did confirm in a press release that the final release of Guilty Gear -Strive- will be using rollback-based netcode. However, that code is still in active development and isn’t ready for use. So, for the test, Arc System Works will be using a delay-based netcode for the time being.

Signups are live now as of 19:00 PT, and will run until 06:59 PT April 5. Invitations for selected players will start to roll out on April 12. Click on this here sentence to check it out, y’all.

Guilty Gear -Strive- is set for release in late 2020 for the PlayStation 4.
