It looks like villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be able to enjoy seeing their Switch in-game as furniture. These unique pieces of furniture come as part of an update that will be available at launch. This ver.1.1.0 patch will be distributed to all players and will be distributed on March 19, 2020. This means that players who went digital will be able to quickly receive the update data, as preloaded games will already be able to update. Players who go physical will be able to get it as soon as you pop in your cartridge. You can check by looking at the version of your software when the game auto-saves or by hitting the minus button on the home screen if you are set. However, your Switch should indicate an update is available.
In exchange for updating, special Nintendo Switch furniture will be delivered to your home or tent via the in-game mail. Even better, if you’re playing with the special Animal Crossing: New Horizon’s themed Switch, you’ll be able to receive it in game in all its pastel glory.
Players on other Switch systems will get a Switch that matches their own. Excitingly, interacting with your new switch will show the boot-up screen. You’ll also hear the Switch’s iconic click.
Additionally, if you’re a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber, you’ll be able to receive a special Nook Inc. Square Rug with a cute leaf motif. You’ll also get access to online multiplayer.
Fans should also start getting excited for the first in-game event: Bunny Day. Bunny Day will begin on April 1, 2020 and last until April 12, 2020. It’ll also receive a real-time patch to update the game for the event. You’ll need to be linked to a Nintendo account and online to get in on the fun.
