The Outer Worlds Switch Will Launch in June With a 6GB Day One Patch

The Outer Worlds Switch version finally has a final release date, following a delay. People will be able to go planet-hopping either physically or digitally with Obsidian Entertainment’s action-RPG on June 5, 2020. However, they’ll want to make sure they have quite a bit of space when they do, as there will be a rather large The Outer Worlds day one patch.

Once someone sets off with The Outer Worlds Switch, they’ll need to grab the 6GB day one patch. As its name suggests, it will also be available on June 5, 2020. While some of what it does seems like it could make it an optional download, as it will include “additional hi-res textures,” it also includes bug fixes and gameplay adjustments that might make it more essential.

Originally, The Outer Worlds Switch was going to be a digital-only March 6, 2020 release. However, on February 6, 2020, publisher Private Division said COVID-19 coronavirus would result in Virtuos, the studio working on the Switch port, needing additional time to finish things up. (That was also when a retail release was confirmed to accompany the digital one.)

The Outer Worlds will come to the Nintendo Switch digitally and physically on June 5, 2020. It is immediately available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
