Final Fantasy XV is available in a whole new way in Japan. Way back in March 2019, NTT Docomo committed to bringing 5G game streaming to Japan and invested in Hatch Entertainment. A year later in March 2020, the company launched its 5G service. Now, Final Fantasy XV is available to play on mobile devices in Japan via the cloud streaming service. [Thanks, Game Watch!]
This Final Fantasy XV release allows people to play the game on their devices. It will cost 5,478円 (~$51) to start playing. However, this only gives you access to the game for three years. (Thanks to Kazuma for the assist!)
While NTT Docomo does not offer this service outside of Japan, it is actually possible to play Final Fantasy XV on mobile devices in other regions. The game was among the Google Stadia launch titles. It costs $39.99 for that version of the game, which can then be streamed on mobile devices, PCs with Chrome browsers, and PCs with Google Chromecast.
Final Fantasy XV is available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It is also possible to play it on mobile devices, either via cloud-based streaming services available through companies like Google and NTT Docomo or by picking up Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition, which retells the story through bit-sized chunks and with chibi graphics.
