Sushi Reversi

Sushi Reversi Is a Fin-tastic Board Game Where You Fight Your Way to the Top

Japanese developer CaeruX is bringing a party game called Sushi Reversi to the Nintendo Switch next week on July 22, 2020. Originally announced back in February 2020, the game is ostensibly a sushi-themed version of Reversi. The catch is that players don’t take turns to play and instead fight their way on the game board using sushi pieces.

Additionally, CaeruX also uploaded a gameplay video showing how a match of Sushi Reversi could play out.

The game supports up to four players in party mode. It also has a Challenge Mode, where players can take on more than 100 different levels. Gameplay isn’t that sofishsticated. You control your chosen sushi piece and try to add sushi plates to the board squares. True to Reversi, you can capture enemy plates by surrounding them with your own plates and scale back their progress. However, there’s a fight going on amidst all this, so you’ll need to fend off attackers and stop opponents from adding their own plates while finding the right opportunaty to add your own. Each sushi has its own special skill that can be used when the skill bar is filled. Whoever has the most plates at the end wins the game.

Sushi Reversi will be released for the Nintendo Switch on the Japanese eShop on July 22, 2020.
