Fate/Extella and Fate/Extella Link Have Gone Mobile

During the full stream celebrating the Fate/EXTRA series’ 10th Anniversary, Type-Moon announced that the action games Fate/EXTELLA (known overseas as Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star) and Fate/EXTELLA LINK have been ported to iOS and Android devices. In fact, they’re available right now on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in Japan for the cool price of ¥2,440 JPY ($22.99) each.

Released in 2016, Fate/EXTELLA was developed by Marvelous as an action game based on the Fate/EXTRA RPG. In it, protagonist Hakuno Kishinami has emerged victorious from the Moon Holy Grail War, only to be plunged into a new battle to secure the Holy Grail from a new threat. Now Kishinami must put aside their old rivalries and cooperate to hold onto the prize they’ve fought so long and hard for. Unlike the turn-based Fate/EXTRAEXTELLA was a high-speed brawler in the vein of the Dynasty Warriors franchise, granting players control of the Servants of Fate/Extra as they cleaved through whole armies in a single stroke.

And Extella Link Mobile:

2018’s Fate/EXTELLA LINK  was a direct sequel to EXTELLA, and featured a storyline starring a new Servant based on French hero Charlemagne. It also added more playable Servants, including Francis Drake and others drawn from other Fate settings, like Scathach from Fate/Grand Order and Astolfo from Fate/Apocrypha.

Both games were licensed and localized for English-language release by XSEED Games and released on the PlayStation 4, PC, PS Vita, and Nintendo Switch. No announcements were made regarding a localization or release outside the Japanese app stores as yet.

Fate/Extella and Fate/Extella link are available on iOS and Android. Check out their (Japanese) store pages here and here.
