The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed another event as a victim. A second FFXIV Fan Festival has been canceled. Square Enix confirmed during its July 22, 2020 Letter from the Producer presentation that the Japanese con that would have been held at Nagoyaās Aichi Sky Expo on December 19-20, 2020 wonāt be happening. However, Europeās 2021 event āis still under consideration.ā
This came alongside a threefold update on all of the planned FFXIV Fan Festivals. It began by reminding people the November 2020 San Diego, California event was canceled, though Square Enix is considering ānew dates, locations, and methods to host an event.ā Likewise, it confirmed Nagoyaās event wonāt be happening, but again other possibilities are being looked into. Finally, it brought up the European eventās status.

While continuing to monitor the status of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the European Fan Festival is still under consideration to be held in February 2021.
If it is able to be held, the European FFXIV Fan Festival will be held February 20-21, 2021 at ExCeL London in the UK.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PlayStation 4 and PC. The July 22, 2020 presentation also went over the upcoming 5.3 update and free trial expansion.
