After some minor delays, we have the Baldur’s Gate 3 early access launch date: September 30, 2020. As long as you have a PC or Stadia-compatible device, you can hop in, as that’s when the game will appear on both platforms. Also, to help people get a better idea of what to expect from this initial launch, Larian Studios compared it to Divinity: Original Sin 2’s early access phase.
Here are all the things people can expect to do, see, use, and meet in the Baldur’s Gate 3 early access phase. People will have access to Act 1, which is about 25 hours long, the next two haven’t been dated.
- There will be five launch Origin characters. They are Astarion, an Elf/Vampire rogue, Gale the Human wizard, Lae’zel the Giithyanki warrior, and Wyll the human warlock. You can also make custom characters.
- There will be 80 different sorts of “combat encounters.”
- There will be 146 different actions and spells people will be able to use.
- There will be 596 characters present.
- There will be 45,980 lines of dialogue.

Baldur’s Gate 3 early access will begin on September 30, 2020 on PCs via Steam and Google Stadia. On the Steam page, Larian said, “We anticipate Baldur’s Gate 3 being in Early Access for at least one year but we’ll have to see how it goes. It’ll be ready when it’s ready.”
