Nintendo NY Store Won’t Require Reservations Anymore

Visiting the Nintendo NY Store will be a little easier on September 1, 2020. The official Facebook and Twitter accounts noted the easing of restrictions. While maximum occupancy will be restricted, face masks will be required, social distancing will be encouraged, and there will be a self-maintained 30 minute limit on visits, people won’t have to make reservations to attend anymore.

The reservation process was introduced as a part of its reopening initiative on August 7, 2020. After being temporarily closed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the store was limiting the amount of people allowed to shop by asking for everyone to make a reservation to pop by. General entry will now be in effect when September begins, though there will likely be lines to visit.

Nintendo also reiterated its guidelines for visits, which are as follows:

During your visit, we kindly ask that you limit your shopping to 30 minutes and practice the following safety measures:

  • Wear a face covering at all times.
  • Sanitize your hands.
  • Maintain a safe distance of at least 6 ft.
  • Adhere to the red arrows and floor markers as you journey throughout the store.
  • Postpone your visit if you have been exposed to or experience symptoms of COVID-19.
  • No cash—only credit/debit or contactless payment required.

Nintendo did not note if the Nintendo NY store hours will change as a result of general entry going into effect. Currently, people can visit between 11am-6pm ET on Tuesdays through Sundays. (The store is closed on Mondays.)
