A rather unexpected bundle has appeared at Walmart, and it seems to tie in with the whole Super Mario 35th anniversary celebration Nintendo has going on. A Super Mario Odyssey Pro Controller bundle has shown up on the store’s website. It is a pre-order for a $99.99 box that gives you a standard black Pro Controller and a digital copy of Super Mario Odyssey. [Thanks, Wario64!]
This ends up being quite the savings. Normally, a copy of Super Mario Odyssey ranges between $49.99 and $59.99, depending on where you’re buying it. (It’s almost always $59.99 for a digital copy from the eShop, though.) A Switch Pro Controller’s normal price is $69.99. That means you’re saving $29.99 if you end up getting this bundle with everything together.
Super Mario Odyssey was the first main, original Super Mario game released on the Nintendo Switch. Like Super Mario 64, it’s a 3D platformer with a more open-ended approach. It also introduced Cappy, an ally that allows Mario to take over different enemies’ bodies.
Super Mario Odyssey is immediately available for the Nintendo Switch, as is the standard Pro Controller. The Walmart product listing says that people should be shipping out to people by September 10, 2020 in North America.
