Humble Games has finally confirmed the release date of Project Wingman. The game will now launch on December 1, 2020.
Project Wingman is a flight shooting action game with modern jet fighter aircraft—similar to that of the Ace Combat series. The game will take place on Earth with an alternate history and fictional superweapons, such as railgun cannons and mechanized fortresses. It was put up on Kickstarter in June 2018, where it was successfully funded within just 16 hours since the opening.
The Kickstarter Demo, which is still available to download now, lets you play 3 missions modified from the Campaign mode with 3 different aircraft available. It also has a prototype of the Conquest mode, where you will be tasked to take territories from enemy control while using the obtained resources to add more allies.
When a teaser trailer for Project Wingman was shown at the PC Gaming Show in June 2020, the game initially had Summer 2020 as its release window. However, another trailer at August’s gamescom 2020 moved the window away to Early 2021. The new release date trailer published by Humble Games confirmed that it will be released earlier than the previously projected window. The final game will launch with over 20 aircraft and full VR support for all aircraft and missions.
