National Video Game Museum Wants to See Your Animal Crossing Island

The National Video Game Museum has put out a call for Animal Crossing: New Horizons content. There will be a new project called The Animal Crossing Diaries, which will look at the very unique experience people had in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the response that resulted in the Nintendo Switch version of the game. Which means as part of its presentation and research, it is asking to hear about and see people’s Animal Crossing island and experiences there.

There’s no submission deadline at the moment on the official website, and The National Video Game Museum is open to all sorts of Animal Crossing: New Horizons-inspired thoughts and media. It specifically said on its website, “We don’t want anyone to be excluded.” So even though it lists examples of things like visual tours of Animal Crossing islands, diary entries, fan art, audio files, and transcripts from group sessions where people played together, those are only a few examples of things it will accept.

A form is available, complete with a space for uploading zipped files, and it also has a contact email available. Be advised that if you do submit something, it will be used for research purposes and perhaps be a part of an exhibit. (People will be able to withdraw their submissions by contacting people however, if they wish.)

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available for the Nintendo Switch. The next major update for the game, which will add the Festivale holiday, will appear in January 2021.
