Binding of Isaac Repentance Release

New Trailer Announces Binding of Isaac Repentance Release Date

A new trailer for the next expansion of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth has shown up on Edmund McMillen’s YouTube page. Edmund McMillen, the game’s developer, has been working on The Binding of Isaac series since its original release in 2011. This next expansion, called The Binding of Isaac: Repentance, will be the final expansion for the game. The trailer only included The Binding of Isaac: Repentance release date for Steam where the game will release on March 31, 2021, nearly ten years after the series debut.

The trailer features various items from the game, bibles, a trembling, crying Isaac, and the horrible visage of his mother. It doesn’t, however, feature a release date for the console versions of the game although the video description does mention that they’ll be coming at a later date. McMillen also states in the description that The Binding of Isaac: Repentance will be a “sequel sized final expansion.”

More information is contained on the game’s Steam page. Here, Repentance is referred to as “a game too big to be called a sequel.” There is also footage of the expansion’s roguelike gameplay. The expansion is set to feature new enemies, bosses, items, and weapon combos.

The Binding of Isaac: Repentance was originally announced in August of 2018. On May 17, 2020, McMillen revealed that pandemic-related issues had delayed the game, which he had hoped would release at the end of summer. He also clarified that another title he’d been working on, Mewgenics, was still in development.
