TheĀ Final Fantasy XIVĀ Artwork Exhibition event that was supposed to open January 8, 2021 in Tokyo has been postponed. Square Enix made the precautionary measure to delay the event due to the recent COVID-19 surge in Japan. The company will decide on a new opening date later based on circumstances. [Thanks, 4Gamer.]
Square Enix has been preparing for the event with virus prevention countermeasures for the event venue. This included a list of precautions that attendees were expected to take if they planned on attending. However, after careful considerations regarding the safety of visitors, staff, and others concerned, the company decided that it would be best not to hold the event at the moment.
The free art exhibit was expected to take place from January 8-12, 2021, at O-YANE Plaza at Roppongi Hills in Tokyo, Japan. Square Enix will share more follow-up details on the event website later. The art exhibit will showcase the game’s gorgeous environments found in cities, nature, and ruins. It will include over 100 screenshots taken by players for attendees to check out. Furthermore, theĀ Final Fantasy XIVĀ Artwork ExhibitionĀ will feature a recreation of one of the game’s cities made with over 200,000 pieces of blocks by the LEGO Club of Tokyo University.
Final Fantasy XIVĀ is immediately available for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
