King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match PS4 Will Have Rollback Netcode

SNK announced that The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match is headed to the PlayStation 4. The company uploaded a huge reveal trailer containing several game announcements. The PlayStation 4 version will have online modes with rollback netcode and a full roster of 66 fighters.

The reveal trailer for The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match highlighted rearranged graphics, rearranged background music, and a rebalanced game system. The brawler will also contain a variety of game modes. Players can see how long they’ll survive in Endless Mode, work on fighters’ returning and new moves in Practice Mode, and take on all 50 missions in Challenge mode. The highlights here are the online modes with new rollback netcode to reduce online lag. Fans can choose from ranked or player matches online.

Originally released in 2009 on the PlayStation 2, the Unlimited Match version is a remake of the initial arcade game. The title features the largest character roster ever in the history of the series. This includes the character Nameless, who is exclusive to this version of the game.

SNK did not reveal a release date for King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match on PlayStation 4. However, the company listed the 2D brawler as “coming soon.” However, the game is currently available on PC via Steam.
