Persona 5 Strikers localization delay

Persona 5 Strikers Localization Was Delayed Due to COVID-19

Erika Harlacher, the voice actor of Ann, confirmed in a YouTube video that the Persona 5 Strikers localization was delayed due to COVID-19. The video comes from the channel of Cassandra Lee Morris, the voice actor for Morgana. (Thanks to Resetera user Neoxon!)

In a casual chat between Harlacher and Morris, the voice actors talked about the Persona 5 Strikers localization. Harlacher mentioned the unfortunate need to ignore tweets from fans asking about the Persona 5 Strikers dub. Morris expressed wanting to reassure fans that the western version would be coming, but of course, could not. The voice actors then confirmed that they recorded the dub during the COVID-19 quarantine. Harlacher said the recording was about to start around April 2020, but then quarantine went into effect. Production was anticipating everyone would go back into the studio a few weeks later, but that did not happen. Afterward, they had to come up with a “plan B” and the voice actors were sent microphones and equipment to record remotely. The audio engineers then mixed everything on their end.

The two voice actors began chatting about the Persona 5 Strikers localization around the 17-minute mark in the below video.

Persona 5 Strikers is a sequel to the original title, developed by Koei Tecmo. The action-RPG will star the Phantom Thieves going across Japan, solving a new phenomenon. We were big fans of the game in our preview from December 2020.

Persona 5 Strikers will release on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam on February 23, 2021. Those who preorder the Digital Deluxe edition will get access to the title four days earlier on February 19, 2021. It is currently available in Japan as Persona 5 Scramble.
