SNK has released The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match on PlayStation 4 digitally worldwide. It also announced that a physical release of KOF 2002 UM will be available in Japan on April 15, 2021. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
The PlayStation 4 digital release of KOF 2002 Unlimited Match was stealth-launched as SNK never mentioned a release date prior to today’s launch. The last time SNK posted about the port on January 7, 2021, it only mentioned the games was “Coming Soon“. The PS4 version of KOF 2002 UM will have a rollback netcode implemented at launch, which was successfully tested on the existing PC version in October 2020.
SNK has also published a new trailer to commemorate the digital launch of KOF 2002 Unlimited Match on PlayStation 4.

With the Japanese physical release date confirmed, SNK has also opened pre-orders for multiple limited physical packages on its Japanese online shop. While SNK is selling the physical copy itself for just 2,980 yen (~$28.44), it also sells other sets with varying prices that separately include a framed illustration of the game’s main visual, a Neo Geo table stand sign, or a Neo Geo ROM package-styled box that contains the original soundtrack and an artbook. The all-in-one Super Complete Set is priced at a whopping 23,800 yen (~$227).
The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match is now available digitally on PlayStation 4 and PC. A physical package of the PlayStation 4 version will also be released in Japan on April 15, 2021, and in the West in Spring 2021.
