Fortnite Street Fighter Crossover Features Ryu and Chun-Li

Epic Games has released a new trailer for its free-to-play battle royale game, Fortnite, which reveals that the Street Fighter characters, Chun-Li and Ryu will make an appearance in the game. The trailer is only 28 seconds long, and doesn’t reveal much besides the fact that they will be in the game in some capacity, but more details are expected to release at 7 pm ET on February 20, 2021 via Epic Games’ blog and social media accounts.

The trailer does indicate that Ryu and Chun-Li will “join the hunt,” which is a reference to an ongoing event for the game’s fifth season. This season of Fortnite features a character named Agent Jonesy who recruits characters from various realities to assist in in-game events. This includes characters like the Mandalorian and Predator, who is the titular character across various films. A 2D version of Agent Jonesy can be seen in the trailer teleporting the two iconic fighters out of their match.

The trailer’s title, “Legendary Fighters Ryu and Chun-Li Arrive Through the Zero Point,” also indicates that their presence will be a result of dimension-hopping. The Zero Point is a story element that has been present in Fortnite throughout multiple seasons, which have featured cameos of their own. Thanos even made an appearance in an event. The Nintendo character, Kirby, even popped up in a trailer for the game’s Party Royale mode.

Fortnite is available for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
