Japanese retailer JINS will release a series of Neon Genesis Evangelion inspired glasses frames and sunglasses. Consumers will be able to pre-order these frames on March 8, 2021. A total of two variants will be available, each modeled after Unit-01 and Unit-02. Each individual pair, including the sunglasses, will cost ¥12,000 (or approximately $112). Reservations will only be available for a limited time. Consumers will have until March 19, 2021 to make their pre-order. As mentioned previously, each Neon Genesis Evangelion JINS glasses frame is inspired by a respective EVA Unit. The first in the line-up is inspired by Unit-01. This pair of glasses features subtle detailing to match the color scheme of EVA Unit-01. Additionally, a pair of sunglasses inspired by Unit-01 is also available to purchase for the same price.
And lastly, a series of frames inspired by Unit-02 will also be available to purchase. Like the Unit-01 frames, the Unit-02 frames features unique detailing. However, these designs are a bit more discreet. The Unit-01 and Unit-02 glasses frames will come with a special box and carrying case.
The final Neon Genesis Evangelion film, Neon Genesis Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time has received another release date. The film will finally release to Japanese audiences in March 2021.
