Twenty-eight years after the first title, Andro Dunos 2 will debut on modern consoles. The upcoming game is a futuristic shooter where the player fights off unknown aliens invading from outer space. The debut trailer shows off multiple locations including space, underwater diving, inside reactors, and city high-rises. The game features fast and frenetic gameplay with power-ups dropped by enemies. Additionally, Allister Brimble will compose the music for the game.

Pixel Heart uploaded the below trailer to its official YouTube channel.

Pre-orders for physical standard editions for all consoles are currently available. There are also limited editions and MVS editions for Switch and PS4 only. The MVS editions include an arcade headband, a print of the game’s art, a soundtrack CD, instructions, a reproduction MVS box, and a “reproduction of an empty MVS cartridge used as a box for the game.” The limited edition contains a unique case for the title called a “FuturePak.” The game will be right at home on the Nintendo Switch with the influx of shoot-’em-up titles on the system, like Crimzon Clover: World EXplosion.

Andro Dunos 2 is a sequel to the first Andro Dunos from 1992. Visco Corporation developed the original game and SNK published it. The title released on the arcade platform NeoGeo MVS and the home platform NeoGeo AES.

Pixel Heart will publish Andro Dunos 2 on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS, Sega Dreamcast, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in September 2021. The game is up for pre-order on the publisher’s official site.
