First Ever Oculus Gaming Showcase Will Be Held In April

The event will be fully dedicated to games on the Oculus platform. Developers such as Pistol Whip‘s Cloudhead Games, The Order: 1886‘s Ready At Dawn, and ILMxLAB will be attending the showcase. The official blogpost states that there will be new information on the development of Pistol Whip, Lone Echo II, and Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge.

Notably, the blogpost also states that audiences in Japan can watch the livestream via the Oculus JP YouTube account.

Additionally, new updates on popular titles, new footage of unreleased games, and “a few surprises” are promised at Gaming Showcase. The digital showcase will be the first to focus purely on Oculus VR games. Previously, Oculus games were showcased through Facebook’s annual Oculus Connect developer conference, which also featured non-gaming and AR content. The Oculus Connect event became the Facebook Connect back in 2020.

Oculus announced back in August 2020 that it would be merging Facebook and Oculus accounts, as well as ending Oculus account support in 2023.

The Oculus Gaming Showcase will be livestreamed on Twitch, Facebook, and YouTube on April 21, 2021 at 3PM PT.
