There won’t be a new race when the next Final Fantasy XIV expansion arrives. Rather, there will be a new gender for an existing one. FFXIV Endwalker will add male Viera to the game. Producer Naoki Yoshida announced that because people asked for it and the graphics team worked hard, they will appear in-game. In addition, female Hrothgar are on the way.
Yoshida also talked about the addition of both the male Viera and female Hrothgar in FFXIV Endwalker. Initially, one option was to wait until both new genders for existing races were finished. However, the team then decided to release each one as the race was finished. So the male Viera will be out first. Then, the female Hrothgar will follow when it is done.
Lore about the male Viera and female Hrothgar are also on the way. However, Yoshida announced that those will come up and be revealed at a later date.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. The FFXIV Endwalker expansion will debut on November 23, 2021.
