Hatsune Miku Takes a Swing at Baseball With the Pacific League

The Pacific League, one of Japan’s two professional baseball leagues, is collaborating with Crypton Future Media to bring a line of merchandise tying the Vocaloid star to the league’s six teams. The line consists mainly of goods and apparel featuring Hatsune Miku wearing clothing inspired by each of the Pacific League’s baseball teams: The Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters, the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles, the Saitama Seibu Lions, the Chiba Lotte Marines, the Orix Buffaloes, and the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. The collaboration was announced with the goal of sending a message of “Enjoying baseball while observing proper infection controls.” Orders will be taken from each team’s online shop, and a part of the proceedings will be donated to the Central Community Chest of Japan through Akai Hane, a national nonprofit organization. Akai Hane is running a national campaign to conduct welfare and relief activities for those affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
